Congratulations to our friends at St. Nicholas Hospice Care, who are to receive an annual grant of £1.1 million from NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (WSCCG).
Barbara Gale, chief executive of St Nicholas Hospice Care, said: “Because this is a four-year agreement it gives the Hospice some stability and also demonstrates how supportive WSCCG is of us. This stability and support means we can continue to concentrate on caring for and supporting people facing long-term and life-threatening illnesses, and their families.
“We believe this agreement, which has taken 18 months and a lot of hard work to compile, is the first of its kind between a clinical commissioning group and a hospice.”

That last line is key: “the first of its kind between a clinical commissioning group and a hospice.” In my personal experience, St. Nicholas value being ahead of the curve and the rewards that it can bring them and their patients. Long may that continue.
